Object Writing Page 17 – Valentine’s Day

Making my significant other smile used to be my past time on Valentine’s Days. Their smile twinkling as the over used chocolate heart gag was brought out. The minor eye twitch would follow along with the same empty thank you. This year I had to be different. Not surprise her with a big dinner and a gift different, I tried and failed there. There is nothing worse than waking up and pumping love in exchange for dollar bills just to receive s half smile. The gears in my mind spun twice as fast on this Valentine’s Day, sun shining, birds singing and a fist full of cash headed for gift central, aka Walmart. Aisle after aisle filled with sweaty men grabbing random items hoping to see birthday suits by tonight’s end. I had a pep in my step, bouncing down each aisle looking for what I knew would guarntee a kiss and a loving thank you. And there it was, on the last aisle, looking at me, begging me to choose him. A monkey, with arms that can grab its new owner….
