Parenthood is one of those groups that once you’re in it, it’s for life. And no matter how many books you read and conversations with other parents (even your own); you can never be fully prepared for it until the time comes. From the 4 a.m. wake up calls because of hunger to the first day of school, there is little you can do to be ready for it all. What gets my heart jumping, are those moments they figure out something new. It makes me shoot up from my chair in surprise. My least favorite moments though, are the countless diapers filled with chocolate and the effect it leaves on our innocent garbage cans. Thanks to parents before, there exists devices that assist in the process. One that we recently bought only delays the inevitable, a Diaper Genie. It allows storage for up to 20 surprises disguises the smell. That is, until it’s time to throw it out. My first time throwing the bag full of surprises, my stomach was turning and talking badly about my life choices that lead me to smelling it. To any parent that ever buys one, all I can say is proceed with caution.
