Song Background: Where’s The Love?

A little backstory about this song. In June of last year I made the beat and uploaded it to my YouTube page feeling it would get a lot of attention. It got more views than most of my other beats I uploaded but I didn’t consider writing to it at the time. Throughout last year I was writing songs and uploading them to my SoundCloud so I wouldn’t get sued for using other people’s beats. But I HAD to let my fans know I was still making music so I went digging through my computer looking for a beat that made me move. When I came across this beat again I just knew I had to write to it. It took me a couple of weeks to write it though. I really wanted to love it, not just make a song just to make a song.

The rest is history.

This is my personal favorite song so far because of how it came together so well. It has a GREAT message behind it and it’s BOOOMing on YouTube. (well compared to my other songs lol) I hope y’all love this song as much as I do.

Released on December 29, 2020.

Lyrics:

Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Tell me where
Where is the love
Where is the love

Yeah, this is about love
It’s all that mushy stuff
I feel like it’s a drug that makes you wanna give enough
You? You? Do you got love
It’s not, all in the hug
It’s that feeling that you getting deep inside
That makes the inner you wanna come out alive
If you not getting it, that’s not okay
So we gone have to work together and that starts today
And that’s all that imma say

Verse One ’bout love taught and love lost
Love taught brought long nights and wrong thoughts
Y’all wont feel that till you walking in my shoes
Looks like its sewn on my sleeve I got the blues
Love lost then sought to give me finer things
But I was focused on the wrong things
You’re hardly present living in your past
How do you plan to build your present looking at your past
then having to spend your last
Got empty pockets, gotta stop it cause it’s bleeding yo
These empty places gonna stock it from the radio
I’m speaking it to existence, they call it self-love
When you invested in yourself its called a self hug
I guess the self hug don’t happen enough
Then why so many people say that they been having it rough
Look around we still here, meaning we tough
For us to get to where we need will start with love

Yeah, this is about love
It’s all that mushy stuff
I feel like it’s a drug that makes you wanna give enough
You? You? Do you got love
It’s not, all in the hug
It’s that feeling that you getting deep inside
That makes the inner you wanna come out alive
If you not getting it, that’s not okay
So we gone have to work together and that starts today
And that’s all that imma say

What’s loving anyway? something that you give away
Or something that you lose then have to find your way back to
It’s kinda like a tattoo or a brand
Maybe the people in the stands finally hearing what I’m sayin
I see it four fold, first you got intentional
Second is attention that many people been missing though
Third support, be open minded the fourth
Be there for each other even if your brother was a dork
Only real love gone make you wanna grow
Then make your darkest light wanna glow
You can show attention with some active listening,
Undivided no don’t hide it so you can know whats missing
Then seeing far in the distance
For support that’s when you get to show love
But it’s kinda hard cause you gonna have to show up
Forget the distance and the kissing listen to my music
Loving ain’t an option so like Nike, Just Do It

This is about love
It’s all that mushy stuff
I feel like it’s a drug that makes you wanna give enough
You? You? Do you got love
It’s not, all in the hug
It’s that feeling that you getting deep inside
That makes the inner you wanna come out alive
If you not getting it, that’s not okay
So we gone have to work together and that starts today
And that’s all that imma say
