Song Background: Two Step

Hello again and thank you for checking out another Song Background. This week’s song is Two Step, my latest song uploaded online. The song length is 2:09 and has the V/C/V/C song structure. As far as vibe goes, this is my favorite song hands down. I’m finding it hard to put this one down.

From the moment I made the beat, I fell in love. I chose to dance with my words as I said I would in the chorus. Normally when I release a song, it clears my mind the moment I press upload. This helps me so I can write another song but that hasn’t happen with this one yet. I have to listen to it at least once a day, hopefully this goes away after a few days.

I’m noticing the more I go through the whole process of making a song, the easier it gets. I’m starting to notice pockets where I can show what I can do. My favorite word play from this song was in the first verse:

If I took a step back, would you see a loss
I caught a couple L’s both of them in fall

This is a double entendre and my favorite I’ve written so far. The word fall has two L’s which stands for losses in this bar. On the flip side, in the past few years I’ve experienced hardship in the fall seasons.

I hope that you like this song as much as I do. Below is the YouTube video with the lyrics right below that. If you like this song or any of my songs let me know in the comment section.

Lyrics:

Yeah
You better know the name is BFK

You may notice how it’s different
I’m putting in work
So imma say this from a distance
I may have been hurt
But what happens when you mending every portion
And it come together right without it forcin’
I was 4 and 10, not missing every shot
But when you not doing a lot
That can freeze up the plot
That’s a stop sign if you ain’t get the reference
The lesson was less than
Giving love and your blessings
Hopin’ you catchin’ the message and how it come across
If I took a step back, would you see a loss
I caught a couple L’s both of them in fall
If you’re pushed over at all
You must get up, stand tall

Can you groove while I’m dancin’ with these words
I might do a two step with these verbs
I got a dream, hope my vision isn’t blurred
I wrote this just to show you that I’m workin
Can you groove while I’m dancin’ with these words
I might do a two step with these verbs
I got a dream, hope my vision isn’t blurred
I wrote this just to show you that I’m workin

Fun fact, I know I rap
Better than I used to
But who knew I was getting this close like Bluetooth
Grew times two, blew two minds too
Do yo rhymes do blackouts, then turn out blue
This here is a little session
I really need a blessing
I try to give out love and
It comes out a confession
Am I giving less or is it a style
Imma need a little cash flow that turn to a pile
All the while, tell me that you feeling the groove
If something is in your way
Then you tell it to move
How it ‘sposed to help causing stress in the flesh
If it ain’t servin’ you
Gotta put that mess to rest
