It has been a while since my last blog post. I haven’t lost my interest in blogging I have been working on my craft and want to only give the best (not chasing perfection) I have been living and admiring the world around me and my children.
Over the past few months, I’ve fallen head first into the world of Poetry. Reading tons of William Wordsworth, listening to a few poems being read aloud. I feel doing this daily gives me an internal metronome when I try to write my own.
I want to get better with my writing overall. My daily practices have been writing 16 lines and reading at least one poem a day. My goal is to make an Evergreen Poem about nature or something around me that most people in the world come in contact with and understand.
A few days ago I wrote a trial poem to get a process for writing poetry, here it is..
I love the autumn season,
The changing in the leaves.
The almost glowing colors
Of the shedding trees.
What I like the most,
Doesn’t deal with hands,
People trading in their shorts
For their sweatpants.
The night time comes earlier
But so does the Sun.
The early bird will gets the worm
Won’t stop until it’s done.
So many changes going on
Make sure that you adjust.
Sometimes a change is necessary –
So that you don’t rust.
